The Yerba Buena Varsity Warriors began their pre-season with a competitive away scrimmage against Archbishop Mitty High School. Despite facing a strong opponent, the team showcased determination and effort, finishing with an overall record of 5 wins and 10 losses (Archbishop Mitty High School Won).
Mixed Doubles led the way with 2 wins and 1 loss, while Boys Doubles also put up a strong performance, securing 2 wins and 1 loss. Boys Singles managed 1 win and 2 losses, while both Girls Singles and Girls Doubles faced tough competition, ending with 0 wins and 3 losses each. Although the final score favored Archbishop Mitty, the Warriors gained valuable experience and demonstrated resilience throughout the match. After the scrimmage, Coach Van reassured the team, emphasizing that these early matchups serve as crucial learning opportunities ahead of the official season. With their first scrimmage behind them, the Warriors now shift their focus to their next challenge, an away scrimmage on Friday, March 7th—as they continue to prepare for the season ahead.

Hello Warriors, this Friday March 7th we will have our second away scrimmage against the Westmont Warriors starting at 6:00. Last season both Yerba Buena and Westmont won first in their league with YB’s overall an 11-3 and Westmont a 15-2, but both teams going undefeated in league going 10-0. Both JV and Varsity teams will start at the same time in the Westmont gym. This will be YB’s first match against Westmont, a battle between the two previous top schools of their own division, which will most definitely be a very tense and exciting game.

Hey warriors, In an inter league matchup against Westmont High who are in the Santa Teresa West league, We had a Close win against them. In our match we ended up winning 8 - 7, squeezing out the win by one point. Last season, they went 10 - 0 in the league, but so did we, so it was a great match against two top teams in their respective leagues. But this season We moved up and are now in the Mt.Hamilton league.

Hello warriors, on Wednesday the 12th, we have a home game against independence high. This game will mark our first league game as well as theirs. Last year Independence was 3-11 in the Mt.Hamilton League. In our first league game in the Mt.Hamilton league we have high Hopes going against new and improved competition. In one of the most competitive matches of the season so far, the Yerba Buena Warriors battled fiercely against Andrew Hill but fell just short in a nail-biting 8-7 loss. Even without Coach Van on the sidelines due to personal matters, the team showed incredible determination, fighting for every point and proving their resilience.

Hey Warriors, this Wednesday on March 19th for our first home game with the YB Warriors we will be going up against the Piedmont Hill Pirates. And both JV and Varsity will be starting at 6 pm. The Yerba Buena Warriors faced yet another formidable opponent in the Leigh Longhorns, falling 13-2 in a challenging matchup. As a newly promoted team in the A League, the Warriors knew they would be up against some of the strongest teams in the division. While the result may not have been in our favor, this match provided valuable lessons and reinforced the importance of growth, perseverance, and teamwork.

Hey warriors! On Wednesday the 26th, we have an away game against Evergreen Valley High School. Currently our record is 1 - 3, and unfortunately on a two game losing streak. Last year EV won the league and went undefeated. With our next match against EV we hope we can win to snap this unfortunate streak. We hope players like Molly Do, AnhBang Nguyen, and Nam Duong can do well like they have recently to support our team and go for the win. Come out if you can and Goodluck YB!

Hey Hey warriors! On Friday March 28th we head to Leland highschool to face off against the chargers! Their record is currently set at 1 - 4, and Leland’s record is 2 - 3. So this match might be a close one! With only a one game difference in our records we hope to improve ours, on an unfortunate note we are on a 3 game losing streak, but Let's hope that this game will end that. We hope to grab more wins with players who did well last game with our boys doubles pair Kenny and Ryan Ngo who got a win in a close match going to 3 sets, as well as one of our boys Jesus Diaz who got a win in the 3rd set as well. Let's hope we can take this energy from the previous match and lock in for Friday. Good Luck warriors and get that win!
