Do you know what time it is, Warriors? IT’S GAME TIME!!! Welcome to Week 1 of Friday Night Lights, where our Warriors will be entering their first preseason matchup of the year against the Westmont Warriors, hoping to start the season 1-0. The Battle of the Warriors will start at 4:30 PM for JV, and Varsity will start at 7:15 PM on August 28th. Be sure to show up and show that Warrior SPIRIT!!! #FearTheSpear

26' - 27' FOOTBALL SEASON PREVIEW
Welcome back Warriors!!! The Yerba Buena Sports Network page is back once again, looking to return stronger and better as we bring you the latest news on our Warriors’ Football program. The Warriors are making their return after an unforgettable season last year finishing 7-3 overall and 6-1 in WVAL, while JV finished 6-4 overall and 6-1 against their league matchups. With this record, our Varsity team shared first place with their championship rival, the San Jose Bulldogs. As for our JV team, they finished strong after placing second overall in the league.
The Football program will now attempt to finish first in the West Valley Athletic League and potentially reach CCS for the first time. This team will be led by notable players, including: FS/RB Michael Montoya, our freshman athlete QB Jason Waters, WR Justin Waters, FB Jason Phan, LB/RB Sonny Vo, LB Isaac Pimentel, LB Axel Benitez, and CB Darwyn Elvir.
Our success last year resulted in 13 of our Football players receiving BVAL All-League honors. QB Nathan Tran received Senior of the Year, with his offensive lineman Diego Velazquez receiving Freshman of the Year after an incredible season for his first year on Varsity, and finally, WR/DB Joseph Silva as our Best Utility Player. Giovanny Rangel, Kevin Tu, Michael Montoya, Collin Tengson, and Justin Waters received First Team All-League. Jason Phan, Thomas Wagner, Quan Nguyen, Josue Molina, and Son Vo were named Second Team All-League
For players who are interested, whether you are new to football or have had experience, we welcome you to come out to practice; it runs Monday through Friday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Bring cleats, water, mouthguard, and gym shoes (running shoes are also acceptable). Stay tuned for the next update on YBSN! #FearTheSpear
