First Girls Basketball Introduction & Welcome Video

Hey hey hey Warriors, welcome back to YBSN! This is a recap of our Independence/Senior Night and Gunderson game.
First up, our game against Gunderson High School. The final score was 39–47. Even though it was a loss, our girls showed major improvements compared to the first time we faced them this season. Our teamwork on the court was really good. They gave it their all the entire game, which is something everyone watching is proud of. It may not be the ending we wanted, but the growth from game one to now shows how much this team has developed. We’re excited to see how they come back next season.
Next was our Senior Night game, which ended 36–50. It was an emotional night as we recognized the seniors who have dedicated so much time and effort to this team. We want to give a huge shoutout to our seniors: Grace Tran, Kasie Nguyen, Sandy Doan, and our captain Marlie Grace McCray. Each of them has made a lasting impact on the team, both on and off the court. With their leadership and setting the standard for the younger players, Senior Night is always bittersweet. While we’re sad to see them go, we’re also proud of everything they’ve accomplished and grateful for the memories they’ve given us.
That wraps up our season recap. Thank you to everyone who supported us. We’ll be back better next season. YBSN out.

Hey warriors! Let's give big congratulations to our girls basketball warriors as they have beaten Gunderson's JV #5 Vivian Phu who shot an amazing 3 point buzzer beater to end of the game for JV 23-29. Our varsity had tried their best but lost this game due to most of our players being injured. Make sure to follow us next game as we face independence in a rematch.

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! Today(1/21/26) Our girls will be facing Independence HS. The game will be @ Independence. The JV game will start at 5:30pm and Varsity will play at 7:00pm. This will be the first time our girls’ basketball team has faced Independence in a while, but with the winning streak we’re on, I have no doubt we can keep it going. Please come out and continue to support our girls as this winning streak continues.

The girls’ basketball team wrapped up the 2024–2025 season with a strong and determined showing in league play, finishing with an impressive 6–2 record that secured them a proud second-place standing. Throughout the season, the team demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a noticeable commitment to improving with every game. Their growth was evident not only in their wins, but also in the way they supported one another on and off the court.
A key part of this remarkable season was the foundation built by last year’s seniors: Joie Adams, Crystal Vargas, Grace Moutali, Kayla Le, Ivy Nguyen, Victoria Andrade, Yvonne Phan, and Kailyn Dang. Their leadership, experience, and dedication set the tone for the team’s success. Whether through clutch performances, uplifting their teammates during tough moments, or modeling a strong work ethic each day, these seniors made a lasting impact on the program. Their influence continues to be felt in the confidence and discipline of this year’s roster, who carried those lessons into every game. As the team looks forward to next season, they do so with gratitude for the legacy these seniors left behind.
A special note of gratitude to Coach Jay for being the new varsity head coach of the Girls YB Basketball team
and also a huge thank you to the Principle and Athletic director for reaching out and finding coaches for our YB Student athletes.
