This week we have some upcoming games
Today our YB volleyball girls have an away game against San Jose HS, the JV girls game will start at 5:00 PM and the Varsity girls game will start at 7:00 PM. Our next game will be on Aug 28th and it will be a home game against Overfelt HS, and our third game will be Aug 29 at Oak Grove HS. The last game for this week will be on Aug 30th, this will be a home game against Independence HS. For Aug 30th the JV girls game will start at 10:00 AM and the Varsity girls game will start at 11:30 AM. That's all for this week Warriors stay tuned for more updating games!

Hey Warriors!
Our last preseason games are coming up this week. Our first game of the week will be a home game on Sep 2nd against Wilcox HS, followed by the next home game on Sep 4th against South San Francisco HS. Lastly for this week on Sep 5th we will be going against MacDonald HS and it will be located here at Yerba Buena! All the games this week will be starting at 5:30 for JV and 7:00 for Varsity.Make sure to come and support the girls! We'd love to see you there!

Hey Warriors! Our next upcoming game is going to be against the prospect panthers. For the beginning of our 2025-26 season so far, Junior varsity has 4 wins and 1 loss, and varsity has 3 wins and 3 losses. Our warriors have been bringing the heat to every single one of their matches, never a dull game! Junior varsity has been bringing the energy, hustle, and resilience into each and every game, along with our varsity team bringing efficiency, strong defense, and seamless teamwork. We have boundless confidence in our warriors that they are going to continue to make this season undeniably remarkable.

Hey Warriors! Our Girls Volleyball team has a home game this Tuesday, September 16th where they will be playing against Willow Glen. The Rams played in the Santa Teresa West League and placed third overall in league standings. Our girls played them last year and lost 1-2. They hope to win this season!
Then on Thursday, September 18th our warriors will be traveling out to Gilroy as they go up against the Gilroy Mustangs in their home gym! The Mustangs played in the Santa Teresa East League and placed sixth overall in league standings. Our girls played them last year but lost 2-3. Our warriors hope to win against them this season!
This weekend our Varsity team will have a tournament on Saturday, September 20th. They will be playing in the Big Bone Tournament at San Jose/Lincoln HS and games will go from 8:00am - 6:00pm!

Hey Warriors! Let's get ready for another week of some exciting games! On Tuesday September, 23 we have a home game against Pioneer High School. The Pioneer Mustangs played in the BVAL Santa Teresa League and placed third overall. Yerba Buena played against them two years ago and lost 3-0 this year they are hoping to come back stronger!
Then on Thursday September, 25 we will be going out to Lincoln High School to play in their home gym. The Lincoln Lions played in the Santa Teresa West League and placed second overall. Yerba Buena played them twice last year and lost both games. They hope to secure a win against the Lions this season!
This weekend will be our tournament debut for our Junior Varsity girls! Families and friends feel free to come out and support our girls at Watsonville High School. Games times will be posted soon!

Hey Warriors! Get Ready for two exciting Games coming up this week. On September 30th we have a game against our rival team! Andrew Hill High School, this will take place at Andrew Hill in the gym. Last year Andrew Hill and Yerba Buena tied 5-5 in the league records, both schools tied for third place.This year will be a very intense game!!
Our next game will be on October 2nd against Gunderson High School at Yerba Buena in the gym. Our pre-season game against Gunderson we won 2-0. Last year we also won against Gunderson 2-1. This will give our girls higher odds of winning again!!

Hey Warriors!
Here is a recap on how our match with San Jose HS went. Starting off with varsity’s game, they started the game with a lot of energy and with #27 Kaelyn Nguyen cutting right through the other teams blockers, and a beautiful save from #33 Kasie Nguyen and #10 Marlie Mccray. The warriors led with a 6 point lead and ended up winning the first set by 19-25. The second set was with them starting off with a lot of tricks up their sleeves by an unpredictable backwards set from #10 Marlie Mccray and #33 Kasie Nguyen making digs left and right. The teams were going neck and neck but with #10 Marlie Mccray coming back with a lot of energy and a good block from #18 Kimberly Luong the girls varsity team ended with a big win 21-25. Now with JV they started off a little rough but the warriors got back up and fought back with a lot of good serves from #18 Yamilet Vargas and good saves from #21 Genevie Trinh and #17 Emma Huynh. They were able to fight back and win the game 21-25 winning the matches!

A tough match between our Yerba Buena Warriors and the Overfelt Warriors! In the first half of the Junior Varsity game our girls brought in 9 aces, and 18 saves but unfortunately the royals took the lead by 21-25. In the second half of the game the Warriors were able to pull through with a score of 15-7 concluding in a overall win for our Warriors! As for our Varsity team we saw some star players! Starting with Senior #4 Kaelyn Nguyen who was able to score an Ace and make multiple perfect sets throughout the first set. Our next player #9 Cindy Bui another Senior who was able to reach a total of 3 aces throughout the entire game. And now for the overall star player we want to highlight #10 Chau Tran! Who showcased an outstanding hustle and play with 2 aces, 2 dumps, and multiple saves against the Overfelt Royals!

Our Jv team had an amazing start to their first set with multiple aces by Yamilet Vargas, a tip from Aspen Nguyen and a dig by Genevie Trinh. They won their first set by a landslide 29 - 12. During their second set the energy was brought by Emma Huynh, even more aces from Yamilet Vargas, and yet again another astounding save by Genevie Trinh, absolutely crushing their game by 25 - 17 making an absolutely impressive win.
Our varsity team had a rough start but didn’t let that deter their passion, with tips from Angeline Pham and Kaelyn Nguyen, along with aces by Kasie Nguyen, ending off their first set with a score of 18 - 25. They came back into the second set even stronger with lots of hustle and more aces from Kaelyn Nguyen, Angeline Pham, and Maddelyn Tran taking the second set by 25 - 17. During the third and final set they kept up their energy but unfortunately lost 2 - 3. We wish them the best of luck for the rest of their season.

Our JV team put up a good fight during the first set with aces by Yamilet Vargas, Angelina Marin, and Jenny Nguyen. Along with a save by Emma Huynh. Ending off their first set with a score of 22-25. The second set came back even stronger, Ellyse Pham setting up Angelina Marin making a tip, a save from Jenny Nguyen, aces from Emma Huynh and Ziana Rodriguez. Finishing off their second set with a score of 25-23. During the final and tiebreaking set Ida Nuyen saved the ball along with making an ace, and Chau Doan made an assist. Unfortunately losing the tiebreaker 4-15. Our warriors put up a very good fight and we wish them the best of luck for their next upcoming games.
Our varsity team had an astounding first set with multiple aces by Maddelyn Tran as well as a block from Angeline Pham, Kaelyn Nguyen, and Kimberly Nguyen creating the barrier. Finishing their first set with a score of 25-16. During the second set multiple saves were made by Scarlett Nguyen, Kaelyn Nguyen, Grace Tran, Molly Do, and Alayna Tran. Along with aces from Ann Lam, Kimberly Luong, and Maddelyn Tran. Wrapping up their second set with a score of 17-25. Sadly during the third and tiebreaking set our varsity warriors lost their game 3-2. We believe that our warriors will come back even stronger in their upcoming games to the best of their abilities.

JV’s game started off with a good note and ended off with a good one too. With the first set JV was showing and putting their best out there with #7 Angelina Nguyen bringing a point to the team alongside #1 Jenny Nguyen and #23 Valerie Vu both served and scored a point not once but 3 times! Also shoutout to #6 Aspen Nguen for being a good blocker and scoring a point for the team, along with #19 Angelina Nguyen serving and scoring a point. They ended their first set by 5 points ahead 25-20. The second set they started off rough but then got back up with a lot of energy and with #9 Ziana Rodriguez helping the team and scoring points. Near the end of the set there were a lot of ties with the teams but JV ended up finishing with a 2 point lead 26-24! This ended with Jv winning 2-0! Next, varsity also started good from start to finish. Varsity started of with a big lead on the first set thanks to the help of #30 Grace Tran, #33 Kaise Nguyen,#7 Scarlett Nguyen,#9 Maddelyn Tran, and #19 Angeline Pham with them scoring lots of points for the team, we were able to move forward fast. With #9 Maddelyn Tran and #30 Grace team being good defenders, helping us win 25-8! The second set Varsity started a little rocky but got back on their feet and were able to win the match by 25-16. Lastly the 3rd set Varsity cut it close but they were able to also win this set 27-25 winning by a 2 point lead! Varsity ended with a big win of 3-0! Congratulations to JV and Varsity for both winning these games! Looking forward to seeing more wins this season!

In our Junior Varsity game our warriors had a rough start but some highlights were aces by Angelina Marin, and Yamilet Vargas, overhead passes from Aspen Nguyen, and Ziana Rodriguez, as well as saves by Angelina Marin. Finishing off their first set somewhat behind the other team. Ensuing the second game we were relatively behind but we had a few pivotal plays with a memorable serve and hustle by Ziana Rodriguez, and a save by Angelina Marin. Tragically ending their second and final set with a score of 25-16. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming games and are rooting for our warriors always.
Throughout our varsity’s first set, some defining moments were killed by Marlie Mccray, Cindy Bui, and Kaelyn Nguyen, notorious serves by Kasie Nguyen, and Maddelyn Tran, and saves from Kasie Nguyen. Ending off their first set with a striking score of 25-21. Moving onto the second set we had many distinctive moments with saves by Chau Tran, Maddelyn Tran, Kasie Nguyen, Molly Do and Marlie Mccray, scores by Molly Do, Scarlett Nguyen, and Marlie Mccray, blocks by Maddelyn Tran, and Gracie Tse, as well as stunning hustle from the entire team. Taking away their second set with a score of 25-20. At last during the third and final set many momentous plays with saves by Maddelyn Tran, Chau Tran, and 1, received by 9, and 38, aces from 4, and 9. And spikes by 69, 38, and 9. Concluding the final set victorious with a score of 25-14. An amazing display of our varsity warriors skills.

Hey warriors! Unfortunately both of our teams lost to the Panthers. With JV losing 1-2 and Varsity losing 1-3. Even though we took a tough loss we want to mention some of our honorable players. On Varsity we had #9 Maddelyn Tran with 12 completed blocks and 4 aces, #10 Marlie McCray with an outstanding kill count of 6 and 10 completed blocks! #48 Do Molly and #69 Cindy Bui both showed great hustle throughout the entire game and were able to pull in a total of 2 spikes. Congratulations and thanks to the Prospect Panthers for coming out and playing against our lady warriors!
Next week, our warriors go head to head with Willow Glen on Tuesday, September 16th here at Yerba Buena.

Hey warriors here's a recap on how the games went!
Starting with JV , In the first set, #15 Ida Nguyen had a wonderful save, while #23 Valerie Vu and #18 Yamilet Vargas stepped up with strong serving to put points on the board. The second set started off with a solid block by #6 Aspen Nguyen and #7 Angelina Nguyen, followed by a great save from #19 Angelina Marin. Even though the JV girls had a rough game, they kept their spirits high until the end. Unfortunately, JV fell 2–0, but we know they’ll bounce back stronger in the next match!. Next with varsity, In the first set, #10 Marlie Mccray delivered a strong serve, #9 Maddelyn Tran tipped beautifully, #18 Kimberly Luong put up a solid block, and #17 Ann Lam made a big save. Despite the effort, they dropped the set 18–25. In the second set, the girls came back fired up #9 Maddelyn Tran had a key block, #4 Evelyn Nguyen added both a serve and a save for points, and the team battled point for point. With clutch serves from #33 Kaise Nguyen and great saves from #3 Alayna Tran and #48 Molly Do, they pushed hard but fell just short, 23–25. In the third set, the Warriors came out fighting #9 Maddelyn Tran had an amazing spike, while #38 Jeanie Tran and #10 Marlie Maccray made huge contributions with blocks and points. #38 Jeanie Tran especially racked up a ton of points, keeping the team in the fight. Although Varsity ended with a tough 3–0 loss, their determination never wavered. They’ll be back stronger and ready to show out in the next game!

Hey Warriors! Our JV girls took an unfortunate loss against Gilroy High (2-0) and as for our Varsity girls they took a loss as well (3-0). Although it was a tough game for our Warriors, we want to thank the Gilroy Mustangs for coming out and playing against our Warriors! Hey, Hey, Hey warriors! Here’s a quick recap of our JV and varsity game against the Pioneer Mustangs. During the first set we had multiple saves by #18 Yamilet Vargas, #8 Emily Lai, #17 Emma Huynh, and #11 Mai Ho Nguyen, tips by #8 Emily Lai and #17 Emma Huynh, and an ace by #18 Yamilet Vargas. Unfortunately, they ended their first set with a score of 5-25. In their second set we had saves by #4 Abbie Le and #17 Emma Huynh, aces by #4 Abbie Le and #6 Aspen Nguyen, and a tip by #7 Angelina Nguyen. Sadly finishing off their final set with a score of 11-25. We wish our warriors the best of luck with all of our support and faith in the rest of their season!

Unluckily finishing their first set with a score of 13-25. During the second set we had saves by #7 Scarlett Nguyen, #48 Molly Do, and #33 Kasie Nguyen, a block by #10 Marlie Mccray, a spike and dump by #10 Marlie Mccray. Ending off their second set with a score of 11-25. In their third and final set they had multiple blocks by #18 Kimberly Luong and Gracie Tse, saves #48 Molly Do, #13 Tran Chau, and #33 Kasie Nguyen, spikes by #10 Marlie Mccray, and an ace by #9 Maddelyn Tran. Sadly ending their game with a final score of 13-25. Our warriors kept up the hustle and played
amazingly throughout the entire game and we wish them the best of luck with their next games!

The Yerba Buena Warriors faced off against Lincoln High School in an exciting volleyball matchup that brought plenty of energy from both sides of the court.The Junior Varsity Warriors came out strong and determined, taking full control of the game. With consistent serves, sharp teamwork, and solid communication, the JV girls dominated both sets to secure a 2-0 victory over Lincoln. Their hustle and teamwork proved unstoppable, showing just how much growth and confidence this team continues to build.
In the Varsity matchup, the Warriors fought hard but faced tough competition from Lincoln. Despite strong defensive plays and moments of great teamwork, Yerba Buena fell short, losing 3-0. The team showed great effort and resilience throughout the game, keeping their heads high and their energy up to the final point.Both teams continue to show heart, progress, and school pride every time they step on the court. Hey Warriors! On September 30th we ended off the month with an intense game against our rivals at Andrew Hill. JV started off their first set with a bang with amazing rallies putting them way ahead and multiple aces by Ida Nguyen, Angelina Marin, Aspen Nguyen, and Yamilet Vargas. Finishing off their first set with a score of 25-11. Their second set was even more impressive with multiple tips by Angelina Marin and Ziana Rodriguez , aces by Yamilet Vargas and Ziana Rodriguez, and a spike by Aspen Nguyen. Winning their final set with a crazy score of 25-8.
Varsity had a rough start in their first set but still had many good plays like a crazy save from Molly Do, an ace by Evelyn Nguyen, and a block by Maddelyn Tran and Kaelyn Nguyen. Unfortunately finishing with a score of 14-25. In their second set our warriors made an incredible comeback with aces from Maddelyn Tran, Evelyn Nguyen, and Kasie Tran, blocks by Maddelyn Train and Gracie Tse, a tip by Ann Lam, and a spike from Maddelyn Tran. Ending off their second set with a score of 25-10. During their third and final set our warriors had an intense neck in neck game. They had aces by Maddelyn Tran and Kasie Nguyen, blocks by Maddelyn Tran and Jeanie Tran and a spike from Marlie Mccray. Taking away their third and last set with a score of 25-22.

The JV Warriors brought their energy and teamwork to the court in an exciting match against Gunderson, winning 2-0 with set scores of 25-23 and 25-11.In the first set, Angelina Marin started things off strong with a great serve, followed by key plays from Yamilet Vargas , Abbie Le, and Ellyse Pham, each earning points through powerful hits and serves. The team’s communication was sharp, with smart plays and quick saves that kept the lead within reach. The Warriors held their ground and closed out the first set 25–23.The momentum carried into the second set, where Aspen Nguyen and Abbie Le scored multiple points through serves and hits. The Warriors quickly built a 7-point lead, showing confidence and control throughout the game. With consistent serves and solid defense, the JV team sealed the victory 25–11, taking the match in straight sets.It was a strong showing from every player, with teamwork and hustle leading the Warriors to another impressive win.
The Varsity Warriors came ready to compete and walked away with a 3-0 sweep against Gunderson in a thrilling matchup. In the first set, Gracie Tse opened strong with a solid hit and pass, followed by Kimberly Luong earning key points through sharp spikes. Angeline Pham and Kaise Nguyen both made strong saves, keeping the team ahead. With steady defense and smart plays, the Warriors took the first set 25-23.The second set stayed just as competitive. Marlie McCray spikes and Kaise Nguyen consistent serves kept the Warriors in control, while Ann Pham and Evelyn Nguyen added great saves that turned into scoring opportunities. The team stayed composed and pulled off another narrow 25-23 victory.By the third set, the Warriors’ confidence showed. Marlie McCray and Angeline Pham delivered several strong serves and blocks, while Evelyn Nguyen and Kaise Nguyen made crucial saves. Their teamwork and focus sealed the final set and the match win, completing the sweep 3-0. It was an exciting game filled with energy, communication, and hustle. The Varsity Warriors proved their determination once again with back-to-back set wins and strong plays from every position.

Heyy Warriors! Unfortunately our JV and Varsity team lost against the Prospect Panthers. Our JV team lost (2-1) and our Varsity team lost (3-1). This game was very tough but our girls gave it their best effort. The Prospect volleyball girls are a very difficult opponent, they only lost 4 games and they won 6 games, they are also standing in 4th place. Last year Yerba Buena lost to Prospect (3-0), but this loss will motivate them to come back stronger. We have a game next week on Tuesday against the Lincoln Lions. We hope to see you there Warriors!!!

The Yerba Buena Warriors faced off against Willow Glen High School in a challenging matchup. Despite their determination and teamwork, both JV and Varsity teams came up short. The JV squad fought hard through two sets but ultimately fell 2–0. Varsity showed moments of strong defense and spirited plays but couldn’t overcome Willow Glen’s consistency, ending the night with a 3–0 loss.
Even with the results, both teams continue to show growth and resilience as the season progresses, keeping their focus on improving and coming back stronger in their next games. Go Warriors!
