SENIOR NIGHT - 5/16 James Lick @ Yerba Buena

Pre Article: Yerba Buena’s varsity softball team will play their last home game of the season on Thursday, May 16, against James Lick.  This game is extra special because it’s senior night! The team will be honoring their only senior, America Flores, for all her hard work and dedication.  The Warriors are looking to finish strong and make this game one to remember. Come out and support the team and help celebrate America’s last home game!

Post Article: On last Friday, May 16th, the softball team had just officially ended the season with their last game against James Lick with a score of 3-18. Even though the comets were a tough competition and we didn't secure that victory home, we're thankful for the teamwork and sportsmanship our team brought to all of the games this past season. Thank you to our captains Kaylani Charles, Brianna Andrade and America Flores our senior for their leadership.

5/9 Yerba Buena @ Mt. Pleasant

Pre-Articles: YB's varsity softball team is heading to Mt. Pleasant for their next game. The team has been putting in the work and is ready to take on the challenge.


Even though it’s an away game, the Warriors are staying focused and looking to play their best. They’re hoping to bring home a win and keep growing as a team.

Post-Article: YB softball team played an away game against Mt. Pleasant and lost with a final score of 9-23.


The team gave it their all and had some strong moments during the game. Even though it didn’t end in a win, the Warriors are staying positive and working hard to keep improving each time they step on the field.

5/7 Evergreen @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles:  Our warriors will be going up against Evergreen in a home game at our field. The team is excited to play on their own field and show how much they’ve been working.


They’ve been improving every game, and they’re ready to give it their best in front of their home crowd.

Post-Article: Our girls played hard in their home game against Evergreen but came up short with a final score of 11-25.


Even though it was a tough loss, the team kept fighting and didn’t give up. They showed heart on the field and continue to grow with every game. They are staying focused and will keep working to get better.

4/18 Yerba Buena @ San Jose

Pre-Articles:  The Yerba Buena Warriors are fired up and ready to bounce back as they take on San Jose this week, a team they faced earlier in the season with a tough 23-4 loss but that was then, and this is now. The Warriors have been working hard, growing stronger with every game and they’re ready to show just how much they’ve improved. San Jose may have the upper hand in the standings with a 1-7 record but the Warriors are hungry for their first win and eager to turn the tables this time around. It’s a new day, a new game and Yerba Buena is ready to bring the fight. Let’s show them what we’ve got!!! #livelaughlove

Post-Article:  Our Yerba Buena Warriors fought hard but came up short in their game against San Jose, losing 14-2😔. While the scoreboard wasn’t in their favor, the team battled through every inning and never gave up. There were some bright moments and even though the result wasn’t what they hoped for the Warriors are learning from each challenge. With each game, the team is growing stronger and building towards that first victory. The season isn’t over and the Warriors are more motivated than ever to keep pushing forward. Better luck next time, Warriors.

4/16 Yerba Buena @ James Lick

Pre-Articles:  Our girls are getting ready to play an exciting game against James Lick @ 4pm. James Lick is currently standing at 1-7, with all our girls progressing and practicing. Now, it's time to take that passion and hard work and turn it into a victory. With determination and team spirit the Warriors are ready to strike back and make this the game we turn the season around. Goodluck Warriors.

Post-Article:  Despite our effort the Yerba Buena Warriors fell short in their game against James Lick losing 18-3. The team fought hard, but the score got away from them. While it wasn’t the result they were hoping for, the Warriors showed resilience and determination throughout the game. The scoreboard doesn’t reflect the effort put in by every player and though the season has been tough, the Warriors are staying focused on getting better each time they step on the field. The journey isn’t over, there's still plenty of fight left in this team. Keep your heads up, Warriors.

4/9 Mt Pleasant @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles: Yerba Buena softball team will play a home game against Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, April 9. 


With each game, our girls continue to grow and improve. Our Warriors are excited to play in front of their home crowd and are ready to give it their best.

Post-Article: Yerba Buena’s varsity softball team played a home game against Mt. Pleasant. It was a high scoring game, but Yerba Buena lost with a final score of 22-29.


The team played hard and gave it their best. Even though they didn’t win, the girls kept fighting and showed how much they’ve improved. They are learning and getting better with each game.

4/4 Yerba Buena @ Evergreen

Pre-Articles: Yerba Buena’s varsity girls softball team is getting ready to play Evergreen Valley again after a tough loss on April 4, 2025, where they fell 0-15. The team has been working hard in practice and is hoping to come back stronger this time.

Post-Article: On Friday, April 4, 2025, the Yerba Buena varsity girls softball team lost to Evergreen Valley with a score of 0-15. It was a tough game, but the team is staying focused and ready to improve.

On a brighter note, the JV team picked up their first win in a while, giving the program something to celebrate. Both teams are working hard and looking forward to their next games.

4/2 Overfelt @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles: Next Wednesday, our Yerba Buena warriors will have a home game against Overfelt Royals at 4:00 PM. Both schools share the same fate of facing a streak of 3 losses from the last games that brought their record down to 0-4. On our last game on Wednesday, our team lost with a final 2-17 and so did Overfelt on their game against San Jose on Friday.


Although we lost to Overfelt last season with a score of 17-0, we believe our girls will dominate the field this time and hopefully take the victory home! We can't wait to see how the warriors will play against the royals.

Post-Article: Our Warriors got their first win of the season with 18-14 victory over Gunderson. The team played with a lot of energy and worked well together.


Audrina, Kaylani, Ziyana, and Kimberlina all made strong plays to help the team win. After a hard start to the season, this win  showed how much they’ve gotten better.

3/26 Yerba Buena @ Gunderson

Pre-Articles: Our warriors will play against Gunderson again in an away game on March 26. YB lost the last game against them, but the team is ready to try again. They’ve been working hard are significantly improving.

Post-Article: Yerba Buena fought hard on Wednesday but lost 17-2 to Gunderson. Despite the score, there were still some highlights. Kaylani and Aidrina each crossed home plate. However, the game took a tough turn when Briana got injured. The team is hoping for a fast recovery for her as they keep pushing forward and working hard.

3/24 Gunderson @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles: Yerba Buena was supposed to play a home game against Gunderson on March 12, but it was canceled because of bad weather. The game will now be played on March 24.

Last season, Gunderson had an overall record of 14-4, while Yerba Buena finished with a record of 4-15.

Post-Article: Our Warriors played a tough game against Gunderson and lost 25-8. Even though the team didn’t win, they had some great moments. Kathy had a nice slide-in run that got the team excited. Kaylani and Ziana did a great job hitting the ball and helping the team stay strong.

3/21 Independence @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles: Yerba Buena High School is ready to face off against Independence High School today in an exciting home game. After a tough loss to San Jose, our girls are ready to bounce back.

Post-Article: Ourgirls played against Independence and lost 19-5. Although the team didn’t win, they did better than last time and are making progress. Kathy subbed for Kaylani, who got hurt, and scored 1 point. The team is working hard and getting better each game!

3/19 San Jose @ Yerba Buena

Pre-Articles: The Yerba Buena High School softball team is getting ready to play against San Jose High in an exciting game. The teams will face off on March 19, and both are hoping for a strong start to the season.


Last season, San Jose High had a solid record of 11-10, while Yerba Buena finished with 4-14. Yerba Buena will be looking to improve this year and surprise their opponents.


Even though San Jose had a better record last year, anything can happen in a game. Our warriors have been practicing hard and will try to play strong defense and hit the ball well to get a win.

Post-Article: Yerba Buena High School played against San Jose High and lost the game with a score of 3-20.


San Jose started strong and kept the lead for most of the game. Our Warriors scored 3 points, with Kaylani hitting a home run and Adrianna adding 2 more points.


Even though they lost, our girls didn’t give up. They worked hard and showed great teamwork.
