pre-game vs. homestead 8/29/25

Hey warriors! The Yerba Buena Football team will be going against the Homestead Mustangs at Homestead High School this Friday, August 29th, at 4:30-6:30 for JV and 7-9 PM for Varsity. Homestead played in the De Anza League and were 6th place overall in standings. The warriors faced off against them for their first game last year, but unfortunately lost against them 42-18.  We wish the best luck to our teams.

Hey warrior family! Our warrior football team will be traveling to Salinas to go up against the Marina Mariners at Marina High School. Marina played in the Pacific Coast Athletic League last year and was 6th place overall in league standings. This game is also the Mariners homecoming game, where they will be showcasing their renovated field. This news was well received by everybody in Salinas, so much that a local news station will be recording the game tonight. They also rearranged their schedule to specifically go against Yerba Buena on their hoco night. JV will go from 4:30-6:30 PM and Varsity will go from 7:15-9 PM.

Hey warriors! Our warriors will be hosting their home opener against the Harbor Pirates tommorrow, September 11th, at the football field. The Pirates played in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League last year and placed 7th in league standings. The warriors played them last year and unfortunately lost to them 27-18, but they hope to win against them this time. JV starts at 4:30 and goes until 6:30 PM and Varsity starts at 7 PM and goes until 9 PM. Come out to the field to support our teams!

Hey Warriors! Our warriors have their first league game against the Evergreen Cougars this Friday, September 19th, at our football field. The Cougars played in the Blossom Valley Athletic League last year and placed 3rd overall in league standings. We did go against the Cougars last year, with JV winning 20-19 and Varsity unfortunately losing 35-26. The Warriors are coming in with confidence, coming out of week 3 with a win, while the Cougars come out of week 3 with a blowout loss of 48-6 to the Del Mar Dons. JV is from 4:30-6:30 pm and Varsity from 7-10 PM. #fearthespear

Hey Warriors! Our football team faces off against the Independence 76ers tomorrow, September 25th, at our home field. This is our first time facing off against the 76ers in school history. The Independence 76ers played in the Blossom Valley Athletic League last year and placed 6th overall in league standings. The warriors look to dominate against them.JV is from 4:30-6:30 PM and Varsity is from 7-10 PM. #fearthespear

Hey Warriors! Our football team will play the San Jose Bulldogs this Friday, October 3rd, with JV starting at 4:30-6:30 PM and Varsity starting at 7:15-10 PM. As everybody knows, this is their homecoming game which will be hosted at our football field. The San Jose Bulldogs played in the Blossom Valley Athletic League last year and placed 5th overall in league standings. The warriors faced off against the Bulldogs last year, but unfortunately lost 42-22. This is a tough match up for the Warriors, but they look to keep their win-streak alive. This is a very anticipated game, with our cheer team preparing a halftime performance, the hoco court going on at halftime as well, and our students ready to bring spirit and hype to the field, with ASB decking out our student section with posters and gear to support the warriors. #fearthespear

Hey warriors! Our football team will face off against their longtime rivals, the Andrew Hill Falcons, this Thursday, October 17th, at Andrew Hill HS, with JV going from 4:30-6:30 PM and Varsity from 7-10 PM. The Falcons played in the Blossom Valley Athletic League last year and placed 4th overall in league standings. The warriors faced off against them last year in a close game but unfortunately lost 26-20. The warriors look to bounce back after a heartbreaking homecoming loss.  #fearthespear

Andrew Hill has feared the spear and forfeited this game, giving the warriors the win.

Hey warriors! The warriors will play the Mount Pleasant Cardinals at Mount Pleasant High School this Friday, October 24th, with JV going from 4:30-6:30 PM, and Varsity from 7-10 PM. The Cardinals played in the  Blossom Valley Athletic League last year and placed 2nd overall in league standings. The warriors did face off against them last year, but lost 50-21. The warriors look for more wins and to restart their win streak in hopes to win league! This game will be very important to the warriors varsity as will every other game because the warriors are currently tied with Prospect HS and San Jose High competing to win league. Our JV team is currently defeated and our tied for 1st place in league with James Lick and Prospect HS. They also have not let any team score so far.  Come support and cheer on for our warriors! #fearthespear

Hey warriors! The warrior face off against the Prospect Panthers today at the football field, with JV starting at 4:30 and the senior walkout beginning at 7:00 PM. This is a very important game for our seniors, as this will be their final home game for us warriors. This will also be a very tense game, as Prospect has the same record as the warriors and this game will most likely decide if we would win league or not. Winning this game is the biggest step into winning the whole league which the warriors have a big sight upon since before preseason.  #fearthespear

Hey warriors! Our warriors last game is this Thursday, November 6th, against the Jame Lick Comets at James Lick HS with JV going from 4:30-6 PM and Varsity 7-10 PM. The Comets played in the Blossom Valley Athletic League last year, and placed 7th overall in league standings. The warriors did face off against them last year and won against them 41-16. This game will determine if the warriors make playoffs and potentially move up to B league, which would change history for the program. #fearthespear
