Hey Hey Hey Warriors! This Thursday, February 13th, 2025, our warriors will be having their last league season against Andrew Hill once again. It will be located @ our gymnasium. JV will begin at 5:30PM and Varsity will tip-off at 7:00PM. There will be an entrance fee of 8 dollars (general admission).
Not only that but we will have our senior night! This upcoming night will be an exciting moment but also a sad one for our seniors that are leaving. The following seniors that will be leaving are: Joie Adams, Crystal Vargas, Marlie-grace Mccay, Kaityln Dang, Ivy Nguyen, Kailia Le, and Victoria Andrada. Let's take a moment to honor these seniors and their last night playing at Yerba Buena Girls Basketball team. We appreciate how hard these seniors have worked and pushed through their challenges, overcoming them and we are so proud. Not only us but the coaches and their friends. This game will be very memorable, with seniors saying goodbye and moving on with their lives; it's sad but they will become inspiration for other JVs to improve and overcome difficulties.
Thank you Warriors for staying YBSN for this season (2024-2025) for girls basketball. Stay tuned for more updates!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! On February 13th, 2025, our warriors went against Andrew Hill for their senior night. Our Varsity lost 41-44 and JV won in a very close game. Varsity record stands at 5-2 for league and 4-4 for JV.
The leading scorer for Varsity was Grace Tran with 12 points with 2 of them being 3-pointers; followed by Joie Adams and Ivy Nguyen with 9 points. During the last quarter of the Varsity game, a disagreement had broken out between our girls and one of Andrew Hill's player. The fight resulted in some of our girls being kicked out for the remainder of the game which included Joie Adams, Kaila Le, and Ivy Nguyen. The referees gave the Falcons multiple free throws which gave them a boost in points and gave them a win. But our Yerba Buena's Girls managed to catch up to them with 1 minute left on the clock. There were many turnovers during that 1 minute and they weren't able to score and this led to another defeat.
The leading scorer for JV was Brenda Montes with 12 points throughout the game. They were able to score multiple points and win against Andrew Hill. During their last match up against Andrew Hill, our JV ended up losing closely but things have changed for the better. For this last game, a disagreement was about to break out between our players and the Falcons but we were able to solve it in time before it became a big situation.
Throughout this season, we have seen our girls improve and done their best and were so proud of them for that. Thank you for trying to improve yourselves warriors and making this year a memorable one!!

For a little recap on last week's game, February 6th. Our warriors went against Gunderson and won. We dominated Gunderson once more by 30-8 for JV and 36-24 for Varsity.
Our Warriors have been doing amazingly well against the other schools, if they keep the winning streak, they could play in playoffs after the season ends!

Hey Warriors! On Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, Our Yerba Buena Warriors had an away game against the James Lick Comets. This game is the last one before our Warriors Senior Night on Thursday and our Varsity team did really well and were successful in taking the win for this game.
For the JV team, the game was neck and neck in the first half and our Warriors really showed us their improvement and how quickly they were able to grow as a team. They were able to pressure them and had a lot of good looks on the court. Although they didn't win we are proud of them.
In the Varsity game the score was 38-25. Our Warriors had an all senior starting five this game and ended with a continued winning streak for our Varsity Warriors. They are getting people really excited for their Senior Night game that is soon to come.
We are amazed to see how far our Girls' Basketball team has come this season and we hope to see all their families and supporters in the crowd of their upcoming game. We are all wishing our Warriors the best of luck to win their last game and to become league champs!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! Our basketball season is coming to an end, with only 2 more games with our girls. It's an exciting and also sad moment but let's save that for another time! This Thursday, February 6th, 2025, our YB warriors will be up against Gunderson again. The game will be located at Yerba buenas gym. JV will begin at 5:30PM and Varsity will begin at 7PM. But let's take a moment to recap last game's events.
On Monday, February 3rd, 2025, our girls went against overfelt and our absolutely dominated them! Our Varsity managed to score 44-42 and our JV, there will always be a rematch or another game against Overfelt!
The girls have been practicing earnestly and improved significantly for this rematch against Gunderson. We are looking forward to this second match against them. Last time our warriors went against them; our JV scored 20-19 while our varsity scored 36-12. We will see how much they have been improving since then!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! On February 6th, 2025, Thursday, our Warriors played against Gundersons. both our Jv and Varsity won their game and now place 5-1 (Varsity), 3-3 (JV) in standings.
For JV, they managed to score 30-8 with Brenda M being the lead scorer with 8 points, followed by Angelina D. with 6 points. Our warriors had improved so much since the last game with Gunderson; their last match against Gunderson, our warriors won by a 1 point-margin (20-19) but this time, they improved through defense and offense which allowed the bears to score less, etc. During the game, one of our players, Chelsea A., got ingured because one of our oppenent slammed against her, stepping on her shoe, etc which made her fall against the floor. We hope for her recovery and that she can play in the last 2 games.
For Varsity, our girls managed to score 36-24 with Joie Adams being the leading scorer with 11 points followed by Yvonne Phan. This is their second time playing against Gunderson and seeing how much they improved through conditioning/practice, gives us hope that they will make it to play offs after league ends!
We wish our player good luck throughout the last few games being James Lick and Andrew Hill.

Hey Hey Hey Warriors!! Are you ready for another game with Overfelt?? If so, YBSN is here to bring you great news. Yerba Buena will be @ Overfelt on February 3rd, Monday, 2025. JV will begin at 5:30PM and Varsity will begin at 7PM.
On Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, our Warriors went against Andrew Hill. Unfortunately, our JV lost and currently stands at 2-2. For the Varsity game, the scorers made a mistake and miscounted their points, which resulted in their loss. We are still trying to figure out what has happened and will update our warriors! But as of now, they currently stand at 5-8.
Our Warriors are excited for this upcoming game against overfelt. Last time, when our warriors went against them, our varsity won but our JV lost so this is a chance for our JV to show how much they have improved since then! We have no doubt that our JV will win against Overfelt.

On Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, the Warriors won their second home game, both JV and Varsity! The record now stands as 3-0 for Varsity and 2-1 for JV. The warriors had once played up to their expectations and we are so proud of them. Let's take a moment to talk about last night's game.
During the JV game, the warriors managed to win 15-13 against James Lick with multiple turnovers and fouls. The top scorer being Angelina M. with 5 points and one of the hoops being a 3-pointer. Other honorable scorers being Lois S scoring 4 points, Viivan with 4 points as well, and Brenda with 2 points. During the game, there were multiple fouls called on. For instance, one of our warriors, Jolan Vo, got clawed in the face and faced some emotional stress. Despite physical and emotional stress, she still showed teamwork and communicated in a physically intense game. Looking ahead, our JV team will focus on reducing turnovers and staying composed under pressure. We know that our JV will continue to work together and improve their teamwork to continue success in the upcoming games.
For Varsity, we managed to score 41-24 against James Lick. The top scorer being Joie Adams with 16 points, followed by Grace Tran with 11 points; Grace Tran managed to score 2, 3 pointers which is so impressive considering the amount of people guarding her. During the game, the other team got extremely heated which resulted in multiple fouls. It became so aggressive that James Lick #5 got ejected. It also resulted in the refs having small talk with them about it. It helped to reset both teams and let the game move forward without getting too out of hand. We hope that our Varsity team will continue to improve and communicate throughout the game.
