Hey Hey Warriors, This is Drew From YBSN With your weekly Pre-article For Swim. This week the Warriors will be taking on the Del Mar Dons on Mar 6, 2025 @ Yerba Buena on the pool deck @ 4:00pm. There will be NO ENTRY FEE so come by and watch our Warriors swim against Del Mar.

Our Warriors have been training tirelessly for this moment since conditioning began. They’ve shown up with determination and grit, pushing themselves to improve with each practice. Every lap swam, every drill completed, and every challenge faced has been a step toward this race. So be sure to support our warriors this Thursday at 4PM!

Last Year Yerba Buena was in the B League we’ve now moved down to C League while Del Mar has been in the C league. Our last meet against them was over 3 years ago where we fell victorious in an absolute blowout.

Hey warriors!! On March 6th our YB swimmers went against the Del Mar dons and completely swept them off their feet!! To our surprise the Del Mar only had 7 swimmers with 4 girls and 3 boys which is why our warriors had a easy win.

All of the hard work that our warriors have put in finally paid off with most swimmers getting a new personal record. Like Ethan Tran-Le who got first place in the 500m.

Despite the starter having technical difficulties and the lane line breaking a couple minutes before the meet, it was smooth sailing from there and on. The final score was 117-20, it was a one side domination by YB. Make sure to come to our game next week on March 13th at 4:00PM!!

Hey Hey Warriors!! We’re excited to announce that we have a home meet against the Gunderson Grizzlies this Thursday, March 13th at 4pm!!  We anticipate that our Warriors will be able to start a Winning streak and we wish them the best of luck! There will be no entry fee, so come and watch our warriors dominate against Gunderson!

Last week, our warriors went against Del Mar and absolutely defeated them, letting us stand 1-0 for this season (currently). We are looking forward to Gunderson @ Yerba Buena meeting at 4:00PM . It has been years since our schools last went against each other. Last year, they were in C-league while our school was in B-league, not giving us a chance to swim against them. it’s on, and it’s going to be a great matchup!

We’re excited to see what our team can do, and we know they’re going to give it their all. So grab your friends and family and come cheer the Warriors on! It’s going to be a fun one! Let’s go, Warriors!

Hey Warriors! Welcome back to another post article about our meet against the Gunderson Grizzlies! Although we felt it was gonna be a close match, it was certainly not! That being said we are currently 2-0, starting our season off strong, having a promising future to hopefully take home league champions!!

One of our girls varsity swimmers Mikayla Macalino, came in hot with her 50free taking first place by a MILI SECOND.

We have multiple swimmers who swam hard and took first place! For the girls we have Marthe Laenens taking first place in her 200 freestyle, it wasn't even close!

Natalia Rodriguez taking first place for her 100 backstroke!

We can't forget about our varsity boys!! Lets talk about our freshman Ethan Tran Le, with his first time swimming the 200 freestyle taking first place with ease!! We have many swimmers who put aplied all efforts and strength to take home the win! thank you Gunderson for such a good meet. Come back next week for the articles about our next match!! Go warriors

    Hey Warriors!

This week, we’ve got an exciting meet against Live Oak on March 20th right here at the pool deck! The competition will kick off around 3:30-4:00 PM, so make sure you're there to support our amazing team. Though Live Oak has some talented CCS swimmers, there's no doubt that our Warriors will give it their all and rise to the occasion.

Just like us, Live Oak made the leap from B League to C League, but our Warriors are more than ready to keep that undefeated streak alive. We've been putting in the hard work, and our dedication is stronger than ever. Whether they are swimming or cheering from the sidelines, the energy from our friends and family is what keeps our team fired up and motivated to push through every challenge.

And remember, there's no entry fee so bring your friends, your family, and your loudest cheers! This is the perfect opportunity to show our Warriors how much we believe in them. Our swimmers have been working hard and pushing themselves every day. So we hope to see you there, and let’s make some noise for our Warriors! 🏊‍♀️💪🎉

    Hey Warriors!

This Thursday the Warriors had an easy victory against the Acorns with the varsity boys getting a crushing score of 117-29 and the girls getting an outstanding score of 87-64. Overall our warriors gave it their all showing massive improvement from last meet BIG shoutouts to Ace Ha for setting a massive PR in the 500 meter freestyle Shaving 26 seconds off her previous time and a second shout out to every swimmer who tried a new event such as Aiden R. in the 50 free and Aaron in the 200 IM. It’s so exciting to see our team pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and giving it their all! Every swimmer, whether in a new event or their regular race, demonstrated incredible determination and growth.

The energy and team spirit were on fire, and it's clear that all the hard work at practice is paying off. We’re so proud of the progress each of you has made and can’t wait to see where this season takes us. Let’s keep this momentum going and bring that same energy to next week’s meet!

Keep it up, Warriors! Let’s continue to support and challenge one another as we move forward. Onward to even greater victories!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! Tomorrow, March 25th, 2025, our warriors will be going against Overfelt. The meeting will be located at Overfelt High School at 4:00PM. We are so excited about this meeting against Overfelt because, at the beginning of the season, our meeting against them was rescheduled until now. Last week, we went against Live Oak, the Acorns, and our warriors are now on a 3-meet winning streak, and we hope to see this streak continue as we go into the season. Last year, Overfelt placed last in the C-division with 0 wins and 7 losses for boys, winning a total of 16 points at BVALS. For their girls, they got 1 win with 6 losses, winning a total of 13 points at BVAL. While Yerba Buena placed last in B-division with 0 wins and 7 losses, winning a total of 16 points at BVAL for girls. And for the boys, they placed 6th with 3 wins and 4 losses, winning by 11.5 points. This meeting against Overfelt will be like a walk in the park. We have faith in both our girls and boys that they will keep the winning streak going. They showed great improvements in their times, and it shows; we are so proud of our team for trying hard while swimming in their events and at practice. We wish our swimmers good luck, and we’re excited to see the outcome of the meet. -Anthony H.

Hey Warriors! Today is March 26th, 2025, yesterday our Warriors had a swim meet against Overfelt and as expected, Overfelt fell short due to a lack of skill and swimmers. We are now on a massive win streak  of 4-0 and  have big hopes for our next few meets. This meet, we had a lot of swimmers preform incredibly well once again. We had everyone moved around to try out new events. Big shoutout to Anthony Haws for his new PR in the 500 Free. Second shoutout to Evelyn Nguyen for her PR's with a 9 second PR in the 200 IM and a 5 second PR in the 100 Breaststroke making a big improvement in an area she's not the most familiar with and proving excellence in something she's proven time and time again she dominates at. In summation the Warriors dominate the show and prove that everyday they spend practicing they spent it. That all for today folks this is your favorite author for YBSN and we'll see you in the next one.

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! This week we will be going up against Oak Grove on April 3rd at 4:00PM. With a winning streak, our warriors have been working hard by perfecting their strokes, doing difficult and tiring sets, and improving on their techniques. Last season Oak Grove placed 4th in C League with the girls having 4 wins and 3 losses and the boys having 2 wins and 5 losses.

But our warriors have been putting in the work and dedication and are confident in beating the Oak Grove Eagles! So if possible, we hope.to see you supporting our warriors  and we wish our swimmers the best of luck!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! This Thursday we went against Oak grove and WON!! The girls got a score of 129-24 and they guys score was 37-125. Yerba Buena absolutely dominated Oak Grove! Even though we thought that Oak Grove had an advantage because their pool was shallow, YB still came in clutch and defeated the Eagles.

Our warriors have worked so hard and it's finally paid off! Like Ryan Ha who got 2 new personal records, one in the 500m and another for the 100m. Oak Grove was our very last away game of the season and Yerba Buena only has two meets until BVALS! Our warriors have been so dedicated and giving it their all in practices and meets.

So make sure to come out to the pool deck on Thursday, April 10th to see our warriors swim against Andrew Hill!! Make sure to also come out and see on Thursday, April 17th to see our seniors compete in their last home game! As always there is no entry fee and both meets will start at 3:30-4:00. It's incredibly sad seeing our seniors having to go but we wish them them the best and we can't wait to see them swim!

So be sure to come support our warriors in their next meet. Until Next time warriors!

Hey Hey Hey Warriors! This season is nearing its end with only 2 meets left, including this one! Our warriors will be having a home game against Andrew Hill on Thursday, April 7th, 2025 at 4:00PM. There won't be an entrance fee so please come support our warriors!

Last season, Andrew Hill placed last 7th with the score of 2-5 for boys and for the girls, they placed 8th with 0-7. While our YB boys placed 5th with the score of 3-4 and our girls, 8th with 0-7.  But throughout this season, our warriors have been putting in the work and setting new PRS for themselves so we have no doubt that our warriors will be victorious and keep our winning streak on-going.

Our school swim team hasn't gone against Andrew Hill for a while because our warriors were in the B-League while they were in the C-league. But now we have a chance to go against them since both of our schools are in the C-division. We're looking forward to this match-up against Andrew HIll.

And since it's our second to last game, we hope to see you warriors out there supporting our swimmers and to cheer for them loudly. Goodluck Warriors!

    Hey Warriors!!

Yesterday, April 10, 2025, our Warriors took on Andrew Hill at Yerba Buena in what turned out to be an intense and electric swim meet! With a not-so-shocking result, the Warriors secured another dominant victory—final score: 137-22 for the boys and a clean sweep of 137-0 for the girls. It was a fun and competitive meet, and major props to Andrew Hill for giving it their all. Despite their effort, the Warriors’ streak remains unbroken—still undefeated this year! Special shoutout to Evelyn Nguyen for dropping a massive 15-second PR in the 200 IM—an absolutely insane accomplishment! The team as a whole put up some incredible times and energy in the pool. From sprints to relays, every event showed the depth, power, and unity of this amazing squad. We’re so proud of all the swimmers for continuing to bring the heat and represent Warrior pride in every race. Let’s keep this momentum going as we charge ahead toward the rest of the season!  Go Warriors!! 💪🔥🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

Not only that but Ace Ha had set another amazing PR in her 500, dropping at least 20 seconds, winning second place with Martha winning first place by a MILLISECOND. Welcome back from Spring Break! We’re excited to dive into this week’s updates, and today we’re reporting on one of the most anticipated events of the season CARB NIGHT!!!

Carb Night is more than just a tradition it’s a celebration of all we’ve accomplished throughout the season and a chance to bond as a team before the big battle at BVALs. It’s a time where we come together, dressed to impress, to enjoy a meal, share laughs, and reflect on our journey so far.

During the evening, we eat together (carbs, of course!), hype each other up, and talk through our expectations and goals for the meet. It’s also when we go over any last-minute strategies and give each other that final boost of motivation before we hit the mat.

    Let’s go, Warriors! 🥇🔥 -Drew M.
