WHAT'S UP WARRIORSSS!! Our boys water polo team went to Gunderson High School for an away game, ending with a final score of 7–16.
After losing to Gunderson 12–14 earlier in the season, our boys had another chance to go against them. Unfortunately, this game didn't go as we hoped. Gunderson was able to take the lead and make it hard for our boys to catch up. Even though we were behind, our boys continued to play and put in their effort until the end of the game.
Although we weren't able to get the win this time, our boys still went out there and tried their best. There's always room for improvement, and hopefully we can take what we learned from this game into our next one

WHAT'S UP WARRIORSSS!! Our boys team is getting ready to take on Gunderson High School once again, but this time at Gunderson! After a close game last time, the Warriors are hoping to turn things around and come home with a win. The last time these two teams faced each other, the Warriors fell short with a final score of 12-14, losing by only two points.
Their last game against Gunderson was definitely an intense one, with both teams fighting to stay ahead. Although they weren't able to take home the win, the Warriors continued to push through and gave Gunderson a tough game.
With another chance to face Gunderson, our Warriors are hoping to learn from their last game and come back stronger. The boys will be looking to improve their shots, stay focused, and work together throughout the game. Since their last matchup was so close, our Warriors are hoping to turn things around and come out on top this time.
Make sure to wish our boys good luck as they head over to Gunderson High School for their away game at 6:00 PM! Let's hope the Warriors can bring the same energy from their last game and finish with a different outcome.

WHAT'S UP WARRIORSSS!! Yerba Buena High School played their home game against Gunderson, with the final score ending 12–14.
Ethan Tran Le led our boys with 6 points, followed by Trieu Tran with 3 points, and Nathan Canton and Brandon Pham with 2 points each. It was a really close and heated game, especially during the third quarter when #14 from the other team was kicked out of the game after multiple physical plays, especially involving Trieu. She received 2 penalties and a misconduct, which eventually led to her being ejected from the game.
On top of the physical play and commentary from some of the away team parents, our boys were still able to hold the score down and keep the game close. Even though we missed 10 shots in the first quarter, our boys stayed with it, and as the game went on, they locked in and continued to compete until the final whistle. It was a close game from start to finish, ending just two points apart. Good job boys!

Our boys also fought until the end, finishing with a 12–20 loss. Scoring for the boys were Ethan Tran Le with 5 goals, Brandon Pham with 3, Trieu Tran with 2 and Long Thang with 1 goal.
Even though the results weren’t what we hoped for, our Warriors never gave up. The game was physical, and with not many calls being made by the refs, our teams had to adjust and keep fighting through the contact. Despite the challenges, both teams continued to push back and give their best until the final whistle.
It was an unfortunate loss, but we’re taking what we learned from this game and using it to come back stronger.
We’ll be facing Lincoln again, and this time, it’ll be Senior Night on October 8th! We’re excited for the rematch and ready to give it our all, especially as we celebrate our seniors.

Hey! Hey! Hey Warriors! This week BOTH our girls and boys will be playing against Lincoln at their home pool! Our girls will start and 5 pm and our boys will start at 6 pm.
The last time our warriors faced Lincoln was during the 2024–25 season. Although Lincoln forfeited the game against our girls, the teams still scrimmaged against each other. For the girls, it was their first season with an official team, making this matchup a chance to see how much they have grown since then. With a more experienced and a stronger team this year, the girls are excited to finally face Lincoln again.
The boys will also be facing Lincoln for the first time since that season. Their last matchup ended in a 26–2 loss, but since then, the team has continued to improve and grow stronger together. Now, they are looking to put that result behind them and make a comeback this season.
With both teams more experienced and ready to compete, Yerba Buena is excited for another chance to face Lincoln and show how much they have improved.

Hey! Hey! Hey Warriors! Our lady warriors took on Santa Teresa in a tough away game, facing an aggressive opponent in a hard fought matchup that ended with a 3–18 loss for Yerba Buena.
From the start, Santa Teresa came out strong and aggressive, putting pressure on our defense and testing our girls throughout the game. Even with the score working against us, our girls refused to give up. They continued fighting back, pushing forward, creating opportunities, and showing determination until the final whistle was blown.
One positive takeaway from the game was our discipline. Yerba Buena had zero exclusions, while Santa Teresa received two exclusions during the game. Our girls stayed composed and continued competing despite the pressure.
A big shoutout goes to Jolan and Shalik, who each scored one goal! Both players helped put points on the board and gave the team something to celebrate.
Another special moment came from our goalie, Evelyn Guitron-Ornelas! After being put into the field, Evelyn wasted no time making an impact. In less than 40 seconds, she took a shot and scored her first goal as a goalie! It was an incredible moment and one of the highlights of the game.
Although the final score was 3–18, Our girls kept fighting, stayed aggressive, and continued to battle even when the game became difficult. Every game is an opportunity to learn, improve, and come back stronger and this team showed plenty of heart.

Hey! Hey! Hey Warriors! Our lady warriors are getting ready for another tough matchup against Santa Teresa. This will be an away game at Santa Teresa's pool deck on September 10 at 4:00pm. The team is looking forward to this challenge!
We faced Santa Teresa last year and unfortunately came away with a loss. However, this year feels different. The Warriors have continued to work hard, improve, and build confidence throughout the season. Even though we know Santa Teresa is a strong team, we have faith in our girls and believe we have a real chance to compete with them and possibly come away with the win.
This game could be especially tricky because Santa Teresa’s swimmers compete in a higher swim league division than us. That gives them an advantage in experience and competition, but it doesn’t mean the Warriors are going into this game without a fight. We know we’ll have to stay focused, communicate, and support each other from the first whistle to the last.
Last year’s result is behind us. This is a new season, a new game, and another opportunity to show how much we’ve grown. We’re ready to step onto their pool deck, compete hard, and give Santa Teresa everything we’ve got!
Let's go ladies!
-Brenda Montes 9/9/26

Our lady warriors had a tough away game against Christopher High School in Gilroy, losing 9–16. The heat was brutal, and the referee was very inconsistent and unfair throughout the game, including kicking two of our girls out, which put us at a huge disadvantage. This made the game even more challenging. Still, our girls kept pursuing. Jolan Vo scored 4, Shalik Quezada scored 2, and Evelyn Nguyen, Brenda Montes, and Emily Tran Le each scored 1.
Even with a player down in the last quarter, we were able to keep up with Christopher and finish the game fighting. We’re proud of our team for not giving up and continuing to push through everything we faced. Good game, Christopher!
-Brenda Montes 9/09/26

Hey! Hey! Hey Warriors! What an incredible game for our lady warriors! Our team came out strong and showed improvement from last season. During the 3rd quarter our warriors held the lead. Let’s highlight our top scorers Shalik and Jolan, who each scored 5 goals, while Brenda and Evelyn added 1 goal each, bringing us to an impressive 12 goals.
Unfortunately, the game ended in heartbreak with a 12–13 loss. It was an unfortunate ending to an incredible game but there is plenty to be proud of. The team has shown tremendous improvement compared to last season when we went up against them, and this game was another reminder of how far we've come.
But we’re not done yet.
We face them again next Tuesday at their home pool. We’ll take what we learned from this game and come back stronger. Hopefully we will be able to turn the result around with a win next week. Stay tuned warriors!
-Brenda Montes 9/2/26

Hey! Hey! Hey Warriors! Our girls' water polo season has officially started! Our Lady Warriors will be going up against Christopher High School on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. It will be a home game at the pool deck @ 4 pm.
Last year, our team faced a tough game against them, losing to them twice during the season. Those losses have given us even more motivation heading into this year’s matchup.
Our team has worked hard to improve in every part of the game. We have grown stronger as a team, improved our communication, and gained more experience and confidence in the water. We know this game will be a challenge, but we also know how much we have improved since the last time we faced them.
We can’t wait to get back in the pool and go up against them again. Hopefully, it will be a competitive and fun game where we can show how far we’ve come. Most importantly, we want to give it our all, play together, and hopefully come away with a better record against them this year.
